InterMute's AdSubtract Thwarts 25 Billionth Internet Ad

Search Sanity Feature Makes Award-Winning Internet Filtering Software More Popular Than Ever

BRAINTREE, Mass. - Feb. 23, 2004 - InterMute, Inc. today announced that it has blocked over 25 billion Internet ads with its best selling Internet ad blocking software, AdSubtract. AdSubtract continues to free up bandwidth and improve the overall Internet experience for both consumer and corporate users. The most recent version, AdSubtract PRO 3, includes Search Sanity(TM), which enables users to also block paid or sponsored Search Engine results, the fastest growing segment of the online advertising industry.

In addition, according to the NPD Group, a company that tracks and reports retail software sales, AdSubtract was the best selling ad-blocking software for 2003. InterMute has been enabling users to block billions of unwanted Internet ads since 1999.
