Trend Micro Offers Three New Anti-Spyware Solutions, Continuing Its Momentum in Stopping Spyware
First significant offering following InterMute acquisition enhances ability to detect and remove evasive spyware and grayware for businesses and consumers

Calif. – June 20, 2005 – Trend Micro, Inc. (TSE: 4704, NASDAQ: TMIC), a leader in network antivirus and Internet content security software and services, today announced three new solutions that detect and remove evasive spyware and grayware for the home, small-to-medium business, and the enterprise. Trend Micro™ Anti-Spyware represents the first significant offering resulting from the company’s May 2005 acquisition of InterMute, Inc., a leading developer of anti-spyware products, and offers immediate protection against some of today’s most insidious spyware programs.
Trend Micro Anti-Spyware solutions
are engineered to provide accurate, real-time detection
and removal of spyware and grayware while incorporating
enhanced features that provide optimal scalability
and ease-of-use. Designed to operate alongside various
antivirus and security software, these solutions
can be used alone or as part of a layered defense
strategy at multiple points in the network.

Trend Micro Anti-Spyware 3.0
This
simple-to-use PC-centric solution is designed for
the consumer and small office/home office environment.
This new version features faster definition updates,
reduced system memory usage, and Trickle Scan™ to
minimize CPU utilization so the program runs efficiently
in the background. Trend Micro Anti-Spyware actively
monitors more than 150 touchpoints on the system
to look for spyware behaviors.
Trend Micro Anti-Spyware is
currently available online and will be available
through retailers in July 2005. This version will
initially be offered in North America.
Trend Micro Anti-Spyware for
Small and Medium Businesses 3.0
With numerous automated
features like automatic discovery of unprotected
computers, silent installation, and timely updates,
Trend Micro Anti-Spyware for Small and Medium Businesses
offers superior protection and ease-of-use to organizations
with limited IT resources. Transparent to end users,
administrators can centrally deploy and manage
this anti-spyware solution remotely via a Web-based
dashboard, which offers visibility and control throughout
an organization.
Highly flexible, this anti-spyware
solution allows businesses to obtain powerful spyware
protection, regardless of their existing antivirus
product investments. Based on technology pre-installed
in more than 6 million PCs shipped by top PC manufacturers,
Trend Micro Anti-Spyware delivers exceptional reliability
and compatibility with other software products.
Trend Micro Anti-Spyware for
Small and Medium Businesses 3.0 will be available
in late June 2005.
Trend Micro Anti-Spyware Enterprise
Edition 3.0
While offering many of the same features,
the Enterprise Edition is designed to meet the demands
of larger, more complex organizations. With greater
administrative flexibility and reporting, the solution
complements the previously announced multi-layered
anti-spyware strategy by providing a non-integrated
desktop option to customers not yet ready to replace
their existing desktop antivirus software.
Trend Micro Anti-Spyware Enterprise
Edition 3.0 will be available in August 2005.
All
products will be available in English language.
North American Pricing
In North America, the suggested retail price for Trend Micro
Anti-Spyware
3.0 is $29.95 with renewal pricing at $14.95. The price for Trend Micro
Anti-Spyware for Small and Medium Businesses 3.0 ranges from $20/seat
at the 5-25 user level, to $11/seat at the 501-1000 user level. A 1,001
user license for Trend Micro Anti-Spyware Enterprise Edition 3.0 is
expected to be priced at $9.00 per user, with lower per-user pricing
at higher user counts.
